Shock Absorbers – (known generically as Shocks) are used to control the spring/torsion bar on your vehicle and for your comfort. When in a poor state they aren’t able to perform their task and the vehicle will tend to be unstable, wallows, is dangerous at speed, and this leads to an increase in braking distance. Bad shocks lead to accidents as the driver loses control “for no reason”.

Have the shocks checked every 80,000 kilometers. If good, that’s great. If bad, change them. Simple. They not designed to last for the life of the vehicle.
