Tyres – these 4 contact patches have a significant influence on your driving safety.
Tyres in good condition aid the braking, cornering, control and steering of your car. No other component has such an important influence. And they are easy to inspect. Just turn the steering wheel fully to one side, turn off the engine, jump out and look at the tread and sides of the front tyres.
Then walk to the back, crouch a short distance from the rear of your vehicle, and look at the tread and sides of the rear tyres. If the grooves (tread) are very shallow, or you see bulges on the sides, the tyres need inspecting by a tyre shop. Never allow the tread depth to go below 2 mm. They don’t work in the wet.
Value is more important than price. Don’t buy cheap tyres.
